Remodeling to Sell Your Home

Our office administrator, Chantal, is also a realtor in the area. She’s sharing all the do’s and don'ts for remodeling to resell your home! Which projects are really necessary?

Curb appeal

It’s the first thing a buyer sees when looking for a home. Clean up the landscaping, dinged up garage doors and replace siding if needed.

The floors

Updated flooring improves the overall look of your home. Replace linoleum with tile and any other areas throughout your home that need a face lift- yes, we’re talking about that dingy carpet in your living room.

KITCHEN and bathroom improvements

If your counter tops look like they need some love, replace with a new laminate top. They don’t need to be natural stone. Replace outdated light fixtures and hardware but don’t worry about appliances.

FINISH THE basement

A finished basement adds more square footage and livable space for the buyers, increasing your homes value!

It’s important to follow design styles to attract buyers, but stay away from anything too trendy. Opt for more timeless styles. Buyers are most interested in the kitchen and bathroom. Correct the appearance in these areas over the function, for example: a visually appealing kitchen will sell a home over a new water heater.
